ICTU is a Dutch institution that was founded by the Ministry of the Internal Affairs and Kingdom Relations and the VNG (Association of the Netherlands Municipalities) in order to improve the work processes of the authorities, the service provided to society and interaction with citizens. ICTU is commissioned by authorities to work on IT issues of a generic nature. ICTU's aim is to maximize the government's IT objectives through collaboration with authorities. This means that ICTU is involved with policy development and implementation. Policies are transformed into tangible projects. These issues would normally be the domain of the government.
Sourcesense joined ICTU in 2007 thanks to our great commitment into the Apache Cocoon community and our first class expertise in Hippo CMS. Maurizio started working there in June 2007 as Cocoon and Hippo CMS coach for the project Antwoord voor Bedrijven (Government information for entrepreneurs: laws and permits in The Netherlands), but more than on code, he helped leading a big and wide process of project "mavenization", improving the quality and reliability of software release and deployment and applying the principles of Application Lifecycle Management.
In April 2008 Maurizio was appointed Team Leader of the AvB project, and was involved in several other ICTU projects (TenderNED, Overheid heeft Antwoord, EloVOG, Mijn Antwoordvoorbedrijven...) as a consultant. He also joined the team of ICTU Project Leaders, responsible of integrating the aforementioned applications within a single architecture, exchanging data and services, and still keeping separated project governance.
